The Color Me Tonka 5K Color run is a upbeat, energetic fundraiser for Minnetonka Middle School West.  It is a fun community event where participants will run or walk (dancing, skipping, or jumping is allowed too) through the streets around the school. Participants can be expected to be doused with bright color at five different color stations as they go through the course, and end with a spectacular color blast party with music, dancing and fun at the finish line!  

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The color is made from cornstarch colored with non-toxic and biodegradeable FDA approved colorants.  

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Absolutely not!  This event is a non-competitive run that is so color crazy that you can walk, crawl, hop, jump, skip or cartwheel your way to the finish line.  The goal of this event is to have a crazy amount of fun, get tons of color on you, and raise money for the school.  No experience needed in the running department!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

No, participants tend to take their sweet time out there and we realize that no one really cares about their speed - they are more concerned about the amount of color they are getting on their shirt!  We suggest self-timing for anyone desiring to know their finishing time.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Absolutely!  This event is family friendly and we enourage families to attend, but for safety of our participants, kids under the age of 12 must be accompianied by an adult.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The color mostly washes out after the first wash since it is cornstarch.  If you would like to preserve the color in your shirt longer, spray your shirt with vinegar and then use an iron to set it in.  We recommend wearing clothes and shoes that you do not mind getting stained.  Color may not come out of your shoes.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The color may get in your car.  We recommend bringing a change of clothes or towels to sit on in your car.  Brush off as much color as you can before you get in your car.  

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Yes!  We would love for you to take photos of this colorful event!  We do recommend that you put your cell phone in a plastic bag to keep the color dust from getting into your phone.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Participants will receive a Color Me Tonka t-shirt and a cool color pack that you can use at the Color Blast Dance Party at the finish line. Color blasts will happen every 15 minutes to allow for every participant to be able to take part in the color blast party. Additional color packs will be available for purchase through registration and on the day of the event. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Unfortunately we are unable to give refunds for this event.  You may transfer your registration to another participant though.  Please just email us your name and the name of the person who will take your place.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

A little rain will not stop the color from raining down on our participants.  However, if there are major weather warnings prior to the start of the event we will delay the event until the weather has passed.  We will post updates on our Facebook page.
